Differences Between Vaser Liposuction and Liposuction

What is the Difference Between Vaser Liposuction and Liposuction?

This is one of the most frequently asked questions by my patients. To shed light on this question, I will explain the difference between Vaser Liposuction and Liposuction.

We can start by understanding what Vaser Liposuction is. Vaser Liposuction is similar to traditional Liposuction in its basic concept. However, the most important feature that differentiates Vaser Liposuction from Liposuction is ultrasound technology. Another key difference is related to how Vaser Liposuction affects fat tissue.

Ultrasound focuses only on the fat cells in the subcutaneous fat tissue. Using a special sound wave, it breaks and liquefies the fat cells. These fat cells, which have separated from the surface of the skin, are then removed from the body with special cannulas. As a result, compared to Liposuction, more fat cells are removed from the body at once. Additionally, Vaser Liposuction can achieve a six-pack appearance, also known as the “Hi-Def” process.

As for Liposuction, it also relies on the cannula technique to remove fat cells from the body. However, as mentioned earlier, it does not work with the ultrasound system. Other advantages of Vaser Liposuction are seen in the recovery period. Patients who choose Vaser Liposuction to get rid of regional fat experience less pain compared to traditional Liposuction, and this pain can be managed with simple painkillers taken orally.

There are fewer bruises on the skin surface compared to traditional Liposuction, and the swelling is much less noticeable. This is because Vaser Liposuction focuses on the fat cells, causing minimal damage to the surrounding tissues.

Thanks to these advantages, patients can return to their social lives much sooner after Vaser Liposuction surgery. Vaser Liposuction, with its more effective results and shorter recovery time, is preferred more by patients. Vaser Liposuction can be applied to a single area or combined with other areas.

After both Vaser Liposuction and traditional Liposuction surgeries, the patient is required to wear a compression garment, which must be worn for the duration recommended by the doctor. This period is approximately 3 weeks. During this time, bruising decreases, and healing is observed.
